Recently, a delegation led by Mr. Aw Tuan Kee, Deputy Principal of Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, visited XMUT. The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation in areas such as innovation and entrepreneurship, technology application, and business management, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Pan Deng, Deputy Secretary of the XMUT Party Committee, met and held a discussion with the guests. Representatives from the International Cooperation Office, the School of Economics and Management, and the School of Film, Television and Communication attended the meeting.
Deputy Secretary Pan Deng stated that the two universities share a highly compatible philosophy for cultivating applied talents, both emphasizing the deep integration of practical skills and industry needs. This cooperation will build a more internationally competitive growth platform for students. Deputy Principal Aw Tuan Kee highly commended XMUT's educational achievements and expressed hope for in-depth future collaboration in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, overseas internships, and joint research projects. Subsequently, both parties reached a consensus on cooperation directions and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). They will continue to forge stronger educational cooperation links between China and Singapore, promote technology transfer and talent exchange, with a focus on exploring cutting-edge fields such as AI-enabled industrial upgrading and green energy technology development. This will further strengthen the people-to-people exchange ties under the “Belt and Road” initiative and jointly cultivate high-quality applied talents suited for globalization.
During the visit, the delegation toured several of XMUT's specialized practical training bases, such as the Art Space, Intelligent Audio-Visual Lab, High-voltage Electrical Equipment Testing Center, and the Racing Club.
Temasek Polytechnic is one of Singapore's five public polytechnics, distinguished for its integration of industry and education, technological application, and internationalized education. It boasts strong programs in disciplines such as aerospace, clean energy, artificial intelligence, and digital design, housing over 20 centers and platforms of excellence including the Lufthansa Technical Training Centre and the Clean Energy Research Centre.
